Silicone oil derived from the polymerization of dimethylsiloxane, a silicone compound.
Overview
Silicone oil used as a water repellent and hydrophobic treatment, and as a mould release agent in concrete work. A small addition changes the surface energy enough to shed water and prevent sticking without affecting the bulk properties of the substrate.
